said the Friday gig at NUM club, Treorchy was cancelled because of poor ticket sales. Here's my reply:

What a shame. You and your band are the best. You have such a following. It's unbelievable that not enough tickets were sold to cover the cost. We've been to so many of your gigs and there's always such a crowd. Never mind: we'll save our energy for the next gig.All the best, Laurence and Val.
How can there be not enough people wanting to go and see them at the NUM Club? I've never been there, but I see from the photos that there is a hall with tables, chairs and a floor. What more could anybody want? It's the heat, I've heard it said; but when Big Mac were playing in Death Valley in the USA the crowds had a great time before dropping dead with sunstroke. What a way to go! I would happily drop dead if it was in the middle of a dance at one of their gigs. On the other hand, if I was rushed to hospital with a stopped heart and more or less brain dead but my feet still twitching, my partner would ask the emergency team, just before they pulled the plug, to play one of the band's dvds, at which point I'd burst into life again and dance on top of the operating table.Roll on the next gig. I'll buy a hundred tickets just to be on the safe side.

  • I'm sorry there weren't enough locally-sold tickets. I live in Treforest & find public transport from the Rhondda Fawr ends very early so I don't attend gigs in, for example, the Parc & Dare, Treorci. Had I known the band was in Pandy, I would've promoted it as my family live in Penygraig, Williamstown & Penrhiwfer. Hopefully, it's just a postponement & not a complete cancellation ðŸ™‚

These posts are copied from the Big Mac Wholly Soul Band Facebook group site. They are a record of the Big Mac gigs we attended between 2018 and March 2020 when it all came to an end. For followers of the band, I was the blinged up dancer who danced on the empty floor immediately the band struck up. Another world, another death to grieve; another life to mourn.  Dec 23 2018 Dinner and dance at the Vale Resort last night. with the Big Mac Band. I think the The cooks must all have been Big Mac fans who got so excited in anticipation of the performance that their minds weren't really on cooking the food. But then, we were all Big Mac fans, so our minds weren't really on eating it, It was probably left over from the previous dinner/dance with Big Mac, but it really didn't matter. The main course was the band and the dance, which was delicious, as always, and we all had a great time, including Mike and the band.. They are doing it all over again tonight at the Tramshed. It's
